They won 3 of their 4 matches in a 100 degree +, rain filled, condensed, two day schedule. AFC is pleased to announce a new agreement with Crossroads Bible Church that provides AFC with a new full size practice field in Double Oak. Located directly across FM 407 from the Chinn Chapel Soccer Complex, the new location is easily accessible and provides much needed practice space and flexibility. The new field will be fully equipped with regulation goals, corner flags and lined for game play. The club will have full access to the field Monday – Thursday and on Saturday mornings, which provides the club with the perfect field for friendly matches.
Preparations are already under way to get the field ready for a weekly practice schedule within the next 4-6 weeks. The new field will greatly assist in easing the field crowding issue we have experienced and provide our teams with the required space they need to run practices.
The 2012 Xara Winter Cup was played January 27-29 and our 00’ Black team had a tremendous showing. After defeating the Mustangs FC 00’ White team 3-0 on Friday night, they came back on Saturday morning to defeat Texas Lightning 3-2 and get a draw with a tough Dallas Juventus 00 North team. On Sunday, the girls played in the Final Match against the Mustangs FC 00 Navy Team. Our girls shined and dominated possession but allowed 1 goal in the second half, on a set play just outside the box. It was a great weekend for the team and they just came up short of winning the Final match. Congratulations AFC 00’ Black, great job! Keep it up.
